Leaf blades 8–25 × 9–23 mm. Peduncles scapiform, 3–20 cm. Ray corollas: tubes 3–3.5 mm, laminae 7–8 × 3–4 mm. Disc corollas 4–7.5 mm. Cypselae 2.5–4 mm; pappus bristles 4–7 mm. 2n = 22.


Phenology: Flowering summer–fall, following rains.
Habitat: Gravelly or adobe soils, grasslands, playas
Elevation: 1000–1900 m
