|discussion=<p><i>Eragrostis mexicana </i>subsp.<i> virescens</i> has a disjunct distribution, growing in California and western <i>Nevada</i> and, in South America, from Ecuador to Chile, southern Brazil, and northern Argentina. It has also been found, as an introduction, at various other locations in North America, including eastern North America.</p>
