Habitat: Juniper-pinyon woodlands, chaparral, forests.
Elevation: 300–2700 m.

Distribution

Calif., Mexico (Baja California).

Discussion

In the flora area, var. ternata extends from the San Gabriel Mountains through the Peninsular Ranges and San Jacinto Mountains in southern California.
