Habitat: Grass-lands, openings in woodlands, saltbush scrub, clayey, subalkaline soils, sometimes sandy soils
Elevation: 70–900 m

Discussion

Subspecies albida occurs in the southern Sierra Nevada and Tehachapi Range foothills, southern San Joaquin Valley, and South Inner Coast Ranges.
