Leaves not stipitate-glandular. Phyllaries gland-dotted (not stipitate-glandular). Disc florets 3–5. 2n = 10.


Phenology: Flowering Aug–Oct.
Habitat: Openings, chaparral, thin, gravelly soils of serpentine outcrops, roadsides
Elevation: 100–500 m

Discussion

Of conservation concern.

Variety glabrata is known only from the southern San Francisco Bay area in Santa Clara County.
