Flowers: calyx slightly hispid, lobes triangular; corolla: tube yellow; galea yellow, 7–11 mm, beakless, apex obtuse; abaxial lip yellow.

Phenology: Flowering late Jun–Sep.
Habitat: Moist, grassy, alpine meadows, edges in coniferous forests.
Elevation: 1400–2400 m.

Discussion

The tip of the galea is more rounded in var. flavida than in plants of var. latifolia. Corollas of var. flavida are yellow and never bicolored like those of var. latifolia. Variety flavida occurs in the Cascade Range from southern Washington to northern California.
