Spikelets not bulbiferous. Anthers 1.3-2.3 mm, well formed. 2n = 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 28+1, 30, 31, 32, 32+1, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37, 39, 40+1, 41, 42, ca. 43, 44, 46, ca. 48, 56.

Discussion

Poa alpina subsp. alpina is the more common of the two subspecies. In the Flora region, it grows throughout the range of the species.
