Shrubs 1–2 m. Stems: twigs ± spinescent; short shoots present. Leaves alternate or fascicled; petiole absent; blade cuneate-obovate to oblanceolate, 5–23 × 2–15 mm, base cuneate, apex broadly obtuse to shallowly emarginate. Pedicels (fruiting) 0–2 mm. Flowers: sepals 0.5 mm; petals oblong, 3 mm. Drupes orange to bright red, 3–5 mm. Seeds yellow.


Phenology: Flowering Feb–Jul.
Habitat: Rocky hillsides, breaks.
Elevation: 100–600 m.
